NEW YEAR'S EVE GOURMET DINNER MENU
A Gourmet Evening at The Watch House
Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Knickerbocker Glory
This is my take on the traditional Thanksgiving dessert. Every November my American wife cooks a pumpkin pie for us using the ready-made Graham cracker pie/tart cases, Libby’s tinned pumpkin puree that’s sold in American shops and good delis in London and my least favourite pudding ingredient evaporated milk. And every year I remember why it hasn’t made it over to these shores like so many other American desserts…
The Watch House is joining the Movember Movement
The Watch House team will be joining in on the Movember movement, growing moustaches throughout the month of November to help raise awareness and funds for battling cancers that effect men. A number of people within the Watch House team have had family members affected by prostate cancer and we wanted to take this opportunity to give back and have some fun doing so.
Join Us for Bonfire Night in St Mawes 4th November
The Watch House will be celebrating bonfire night on the 4th of November 2011 in line with the St Mawes fireworks display. There will be specials on the takeaway like hot spiced cider, jacket potatoes, hot dogs, and our always popular fresh fish and chips. We will also be serving winter favourites like fish pie and duck confit in the main restaurant. Book early for one of our window tables with views out over the bay, perfect for watching the fireworks from a warm and dry vantage point!
We look forward to seeing you on the 4th!
Wonderful First Season in St Mawes
Since we opened our doors on June 1st, we have had a non-stop first season. There was a brand new team to train, tills to get used to, coffees to perfect, and an onslaught of bookings to manage. To top it all off owner and Head Chef Will Gould also got married in St Mawes on the 23rd of July smack dab in the middle of the season. Somehow through all of the chaos we managed to have a fantastic first season - a credit to our staff and the warm welcome of the St Mawes community.
